Applies to the following models:

Show models by year and engine (2)
What does this fault code mean?
The ECM keeps an eye on the feed voltage going to the fuel pressure sensor. If there is a fault in the supply, fault code ECM-1809 is set. The fault may lie in the supply wire, the sensor or the control module.
Possible causes
- Power supply wire short-circuited to system voltage
- Power supply wire short-circuited to ground
- Defective fuel pressure sensor
- Defective engine control module
What you can do
- 1Switch off the ignition and check the fuel pressure sensor connector for play, contact resistance and oxidation
- 2With a multimeter, check that the supply wire to the sensor is not shorted to ground or to system voltage
- 3Look along the supply wire to the fuel pressure sensor for chafed or pinched spots
- 4If the fault remains, have a workshop check the fuel pressure sensor and the control module
Symptoms you may notice2
- The engine cuts out
- The engine does not start
What the fault can affect1
- The control module uses a fixed value for fuel pressure
