What does this fault code mean?
The power supply for sensor 1 feeds sensor group 1 with power. The group consists of accelerator pedal position sensor 1, fuel pressure sensor, EGR position sensor, boost pressure sensor, intake air temperature sensor and coolant temperature sensor. A fault in that supply, or in the module's internal supply for sensor 1, sets fault code ECM-180F.
Possible causes
- Supply wire to one of the group's sensors shorted to voltage
- Supply wire to one of the group's sensors shorted to ground
- Defective sensor in sensor group 1
- Defective engine control module
What you can do
- 1If other fault codes exist for sensors in group 1, trace those first
- 2Switch off the ignition and check the connectors on the six sensors in the group for play, contact resistance and oxidation
- 3With a multimeter, check that the supply wires to the sensors are not shorted to ground or voltage
- 4If the fault remains and no sensor is at fault, the control module may be defective. Have a workshop decide
Symptoms you may notice2
- The engine cuts out
- The engine does not start
