What does this fault code mean?
The ECM monitors the drive signal to the swirl flap motor. If the signal is too low, fault code ECM-1810 is set, and the swirl flap can no longer be controlled correctly.
Possible causes
- Signal wire shorted to ground
- Damaged swirl flap motor
What you can do
- 1Switch off the ignition and check the swirl flap motor connector for play, contact resistance and oxidation
- 2With a multimeter, check that the signal wire to the swirl flap motor is not shorted to ground
- 3If you have a diagnostic tool: activate the swirl flap motor and check that it runs
- 4If the fault remains, have a workshop replace the swirl flap motor
Symptoms you may notice2
- Poor acceleration
- The engine feels lacking in power
