What does this fault code mean?
The ECM drives the turbo control valve with pulse width and checks that boost pressure follows the expected pressure. If boost pressure does not match, fault code ECM-1815 is set. The fault may lie in the valve, in the turbocharger, or in a leak in the intake or vacuum system.
Possible causes
- Air leak in the intake system
- Air leak in the turbo control system
- Defective turbo control valve
- Defective turbocharger
What you can do
- 1Switch off the ignition, then inspect the intake hoses running from the air flow sensor to the throttle flap for cracks, loose joints and damage
- 2Check the hoses and hose joints in the turbo control vacuum system for leaks and damage, along with the parts there
- 3If you have a diagnostic tool: read the boost pressure in live data and see whether it follows the expected pressure as the engine accelerates
- 4If the fault remains, have a workshop check the turbo control valve and the turbocharger
Symptoms you may notice1
- The engine feels sluggish
