What does this fault code mean?
The ECM compares the voltage on its +15 supply with the battery voltage. If the difference between them is too large, fault code ECM-182B is set. The fault may lie in the connectors of the supply to the control module.
Possible causes
- Faulty signal from the supply
- Contact resistance in the connections
What you can do
- 1Switch off the ignition and check the connectors in the supply to the control module for play, contact resistance and oxidation
- 2Check that the battery terminals and the earth points are tight and clean
- 3If you have a diagnostic tool: check in live data that the +15 supply voltage is close to the battery voltage with the ignition on
- 4If the fault remains, have a workshop check the supply to the control module
Symptoms you may notice1
- No noticeable symptoms for the driver
