What does this fault code mean?
The ECM monitors the circuit for the injector on cylinder 1 and has registered that its signal is too high. The fault can come from the signal wire being short-circuited to supply voltage, or from a damaged injector. The code applies to cylinder 1 only.
Possible causes
- Signal wire short-circuited to supply voltage
- Damaged injector
What you can do
- 1Read and clear the fault code and check whether it returns
- 2Use a multimeter to check that the signal wire to injector 1 is not short-circuited to supply voltage
- 3Check the connector at injector 1 for damage, play and corrosion
- 4If you have a diagnostic tool, activate injector 1 and listen for it working
- 5Have a workshop replace the injector if the fault remains after these checks
Symptoms you may notice2
- The malfunction indicator lamp (MIL) is lit
- Not all cylinders are firing
