What does this fault code mean?
The engine control module (ECM) has registered that the wiring to the throttle motor is incorrectly connected or damaged. The fault can come from a damaged or incorrectly connected connector. It is typically noticed as a poor response from the accelerator pedal.
Possible causes
- Damaged connector
- Connector incorrectly connected at the throttle motor
What you can do
- 1Read and clear the fault code and check whether it returns
- 2Check that the connector at the throttle unit is correctly seated and that its latch has clicked into place
- 3Check the connector for damage, play and oxidation
- 4If the throttle feels sluggish or the engine loses power, drive carefully and have a workshop check the car
- 5Have a workshop check whether the engine control module software needs updating
Symptoms you may notice2
- The malfunction indicator lamp (MIL) is lit
- Poor response from the accelerator pedal
