What does this fault code mean?

The engine control module (ECM) compares the actual throttle angle with the requested angle and has registered that the angle is too large. The fault can come from poor contact, a damaged throttle unit or a damaged engine control module.

Contact resistance, oxidation or loose connections
Damaged throttle unit
Damaged engine control module (ECM)

What you can do

1Read and clear the fault code and check whether it returns
2Check that the vibration damper is correctly fitted to the throttle unit
3Check the connectors at the throttle unit for contact resistance, oxidation and play
4If you have a diagnostic tool, compare the throttle angle in live data with the accelerator pedal position as you press the pedal
5Have a workshop replace the throttle unit if the fault remains
