What does this fault code mean?

The code is stored when the engine control module finds that circuit 1 and circuit 2 from the accelerator pedal sensor do not agree with each other. It can only be detected while driving, and a damaged accelerator pedal position sensor may lie behind the fault.

    Possible causes

    • Damaged accelerator pedal position sensor

    What you can do

    1. 1Check that the connectors at the accelerator pedal are secure and free from corrosion
    2. 2Have a diagnostic tool? Read circuit 1 and circuit 2 in live data while you press and release the accelerator, and see whether they follow each other smoothly
    3. 3Use a multimeter to check that the circuit 1 and circuit 2 wires are not broken or shorted to each other
    4. 4If the wiring is sound but the fault remains, have a workshop check and, if needed, replace the accelerator pedal position sensor

    Symptoms you may notice1

    • No noticeable symptoms for the driver

General guidance for car owners. Diagnosis on the car can point to a different cause.
