What does this fault code mean?
This code only appears when the lambda regulation quick test is run, usually as a check after a repair. It then shows that something that can disturb lambda regulation has not been fixed yet, such as an exhaust leak, low fuel pressure or a damaged oxygen sensor.
Possible causes
- Air leakage in the exhaust system
- Low fuel pressure
- Damaged heated oxygen sensor
- Signal from the oxygen sensor too high
What you can do
- 1If the code shows up at the check after a repair, search the other lambda-related codes and fix them first
- 2Check the exhaust system for leaks at joints and seams
- 3Check that the fuel lines are not leaking and that there is no smell of fuel
- 4Have a diagnostic tool? Read the oxygen sensor value in live data at idle and see whether it swings evenly
- 5If no fault is found but the code remains, have a workshop measure the fuel pressure and check the oxygen sensor
Symptoms you may notice1
- No noticeable symptoms for the driver
