What does this fault code mean?
This is a collective code for electrical faults on the rear oxygen sensor on bank 1 and its heating. The code is always stored as a result of another fault code for the rear oxygen sensor, and troubleshooting should be based on that other code. Fix the underlying fault first; this code can then be cleared.
Possible causes
- The cause is found in the other stored rear oxygen sensor fault code in the control module
What you can do
- 1Read all stored fault codes in the engine control module and start with the one for the rear oxygen sensor
- 2Follow troubleshooting for the other fault code. This code follows it and should not be troubleshot separately
- 3Clear the fault codes after the repair and road test to make sure they do not come back
Symptoms you may notice2
- Malfunction indicator lamp (MIL) lit
- Warning lights and warning chimes come on or behave abnormally
