What does this fault code mean?
The signal to injector 3 has dropped out for a while. The fault is intermittent and not visible at the moment. The code can also come from the signal being too high or too low, and in that case the wiring should be checked.
Possible causes
- Open circuit in the signal wire
- Open circuit in the power supply from the system relay
- Contact resistance in the connections
What you can do
- 1Check that the connector to injector 3 is firmly seated and has no oxidation or play
- 2With the ignition on, wiggle the connector at the injector lightly and see whether the fault follows the movement
- 3Trace the supply from the system relay to the injector and see whether it cuts out when the wire is moved
- 4If you have a diagnostic tool: read the fault code after a test drive. If it shows no fault found, the fault is not active at present
- 5If the fault remains, have a workshop find where the break or contact problem is
