What does this fault code mean?
The signal to injector 4 has gone missing for a while. The fault is intermittent and not present at the moment. If the signal instead reads too high or too low, the same code is set, and the fault is then more often in the connector or the wire.
Possible causes
- Open circuit in the signal wire
- Break in the supply feed that runs from the system relay
- Contact resistance in the connections
What you can do
- 1Check that the connector to injector 4 is firmly seated and free from oxidation and play
- 2With the ignition on, gently move the wiring harness at injector 4 and look for a loose contact point
- 3Use a multimeter to check that the supply from the system relay to injector 4 is not interrupted
- 4If you have a diagnostic tool: check the fault status after a test drive and note whether the fault is permanent or intermittent
- 5If the fault remains, have a workshop find where the break or contact problem is
