What does this fault code mean?
The signal from injector 5 has dropped out for a time but is not present now. The fault is sporadic and may come from a brief break in the wire or in the connector.
Possible causes
- Open circuit in the signal wire
- Open circuit in the power supply to the injector
- Contact resistance in the connections that briefly breaks contact
What you can do
- 1Check that the connector to injector 5 is secure and not oxidised or loose
- 2With the ignition on, move the wire to valve 5 gently and see whether the fault follows the movement
- 3Use a multimeter to check that the supply from the system relay to injector 5 is not interrupted
- 4If you have a diagnostic tool: compare the fault status before and after a test drive to judge whether the fault is permanent
- 5If the fault remains, have a workshop look for the break or connection fault
