What does this fault code mean?
The engine control module (ECM) registers that the signal to the injector for cylinder 2 is missing. The fault comes from a break in the signal wire, a damaged injector or a break in the wiring to the injector.
Possible causes
- Open circuit in the signal wire
- Break in the wiring to the injector
- Damaged injector
What you can do
- 1Clear the code after reading it, then road test to see whether it returns
- 2Follow the wire from injector 2 back toward the engine control module and look for breaks or loose connectors
- 3Check that the connector at valve 2 is clean and secure
- 4If you have a diagnostic tool: activate injector 2 and check that it clicks
- 5If the fault remains, have a workshop measure the valve resistance and check the wiring
Symptoms you may notice4
- Engine fails to start
- Message in the display
- Running is poorer, with hesitation and jerkiness
- Malfunction indicator lamp (MIL) lit
What the fault can affect1
- No injection takes place in cylinder 2
