What does this fault code mean?
The ECM monitors the signal going to the injection valves. If it receives no signal, it treats this as a fault and the code is stored. Without the signal, injection stops, so the engine cannot start or run normally.
Possible causes
- Open circuit in the cables to the injection valves
- Damaged injection valve
- Internal electronic fault in the ECM
What you can do
- 1Read and note the code, clear it and try starting the engine to see whether the code returns
- 2Check that the connectors at the injection valves are fully engaged and not corroded
- 3Follow the cables to the injection valves and look for chafing, pinch damage and loose clips
- 4Use a multimeter to check that the cables have no open circuit, and repair any break before going further
- 5If the cables and connectors are intact, have a workshop with diagnostic equipment check the injection valves and the control module
Symptoms you may notice2
- The engine does not start
- A message appears in the display
What the fault can affect1
- Injection stops
