What does this fault code mean?
The ECM monitors the signal going to the injection valves and how they work. If the signal is too high, too low or otherwise faulty, the module treats this as a fault and stores the code. The code applies to the injection valves on bank 2, meaning cylinder 2 or 5.
Possible causes
- Short circuit to supply voltage or ground in the cables to the injection valves
- Damaged injection valve
- Contact resistance or oxidation at the connections
- Internal electronic fault in the ECM
What you can do
- 1Read and note the code, clear it and road test to see whether it returns
- 2Check the connectors at the injection valves on bank 2 (cylinders 2 and 5) for oxidation and loose connections
- 3Follow the cables to the injection valves on bank 2 and look for chafing, pinch damage and loose clips
- 4Use a multimeter to check that the cables have no open circuit and are not short-circuited to ground or supply voltage
- 5If the cables and connectors are intact, have a workshop with diagnostic equipment check the injection valves and the control module
Symptoms you may notice2
- The engine does not start
- A message appears in the display
What the fault can affect1
- Injection stops
