What does this fault code mean?
The ECM monitors the signal going to the injection valves and how they work. If the signal is missing, the module treats this as a fault and stores the code. Injection then stops, and the engine cannot be started.
Possible causes
- Open circuit in the cables to the injection valves
- Damaged injection valves
- Internal electronic fault in the ECM
What you can do
- 1Read and note the code, clear it and road test to see whether it comes back
- 2Make sure the connectors at the injection valves are fully seated, and look for corrosion and moisture in them
- 3Go through the cables to the injection valves and look for breaks, chafing and pinch damage
- 4Use a multimeter to check that each cable to the injection valves is continuous, with no break in it
- 5If the cables are intact, have a workshop with diagnostic equipment check the injection valves and the control module
Symptoms you may notice2
- The engine cannot be started
- Message in the display
What the fault can affect1
- Injection stops
