What does this fault code mean?
The engine control module's own monitoring has detected a fault in the control system for the injection valves. The cause may be damaged injection valves, a software fault or an internal fault in the control module.
Possible causes
- Damaged injection valves
- Software fault in the engine control module (ECM)
- Internal electronic fault in the ECM
What you can do
- 1Read and note the code, clear it and try starting the engine to see whether it returns
- 2Follow the cables to the injection valves and look for chafing, pinch damage and loose connectors
- 3Use a multimeter to check that the cables to the injection valves have no open circuit
- 4Look at the injection valve connectors and make sure they are clean and fully seated
- 5If nothing is found, have a workshop with diagnostic equipment decide whether the control module needs replacing or reprogramming
Symptoms you may notice1
- The engine does not start
