What does this fault code mean?
The ECM monitors the fuel pressure sensor signal. At engine start and switch-off the fuel pressure is expected to reach a specific value within a short time. If the sensor value deviates too much from the calculated one, here too low, the code is stored.
Possible causes
- Damaged fuel pressure sensor
- Poor contact or wiring fault at the fuel pressure sensor
What you can do
- 1Read and note the code, clear it and road test to see whether it returns
- 2Check the fuel pressure sensor connector for oxidation and loose connections
- 3If you have a diagnostic tool: read the fuel pressure sensor value in live data at engine start and at switch-off, and see whether it reaches a reasonable level
- 4Have a workshop with diagnostic equipment check the sensor's voltage supply and replace the sensor if needed
Symptoms you may notice2
- A message appears in the display
- Poor performance, the car lacks power
What the fault can affect1
- The control module uses a calculated fuel pressure instead
General guidance for car owners. Diagnosis on the car can point to a different cause.
