What does this fault code mean?
When the engine is warm and certain operating modes are active, the fuel pressure is controlled by the fuel flow control valve. If the fuel pressure is wrong in that mode, the code is set. The fault can lie in the supply, the filter, the sensor, the valves or the feed pump.
Possible causes
- Leakage in the fuel system
- Clogged fuel filter
- Damaged fuel pressure sensor
- Damaged fuel flow valve
- Damaged injector
- Damaged feed pump
What you can do
- 1Read and note the code, clear it and road test to see whether it returns
- 2Look for fuel leaks in the fuel system, for example wet patches under the car or a smell of fuel
- 3If the fuel filter has not been changed for a long time, have a workshop check whether it is clogged, since a clogged filter gives low pressure
- 4Make sure the connectors and wiring to the fuel pressure sensor are clean and firmly attached
- 5If you have a diagnostic tool: read the fuel pressure sensor value in live data with a warm engine and see whether it looks reasonable
- 6Have a workshop with diagnostic equipment check the feed pump, the injectors and the fuel flow valve
Symptoms you may notice1
- A message appears in the display
What the fault can affect1
- A calculated fuel pressure is used instead
