What does this fault code mean?
When the engine is warm, fuel pressure is controlled by the fuel flow control valve. If the fuel pressure is wrong in that operating mode, the code is set. The fault can lie in the fuel system, the filter, the sensor, one of the valves or the feed pump.
Possible causes
- Leakage in the fuel system
- Clogged fuel filter
- Damaged fuel pressure sensor
- Damaged injector
- Damaged fuel pressure control valve or fuel flow control valve
- Damaged feed pump
What you can do
- 1Read all fault codes for the feed pump and correct them first, since they can affect the pressure
- 2Look for leaks in the fuel system, such as wet patches under the car or a smell of fuel
- 3If the fuel filter has not been changed for a long time, ask a workshop to check whether it is clogged
- 4Make sure the connectors to the fuel pressure sensor are clean and firmly attached
- 5If you have a diagnostic tool: read the fuel pressure sensor value in live data with a warm engine and see whether it looks reasonable
- 6Have a workshop with diagnostic equipment check the injectors and the fuel flow control valve
Symptoms you may notice1
- A message appears in the information display
What the fault can affect1
- A calculated value is used instead
