What does this fault code mean?
In certain warm-engine operating modes, fuel pressure is controlled by the fuel flow control valve. If the pressure is too high in such a mode, the code is set. The fault can lie in the sensor, in the valve's voltage supply or in the valve itself.
Possible causes
- Damaged fuel pressure sensor
- Fuel flow control valve has no voltage supply
- Damaged fuel flow control valve
What you can do
- 1Read and note the code, clear it and road test to see whether it returns
- 2Check the fuel pressure sensor connector for oxidation, contact resistance and loose connections
- 3Make sure the connector to the fuel flow control valve is clean and firmly attached
- 4Use a multimeter to check that the voltage supply cable to the valve has no open circuit
- 5Have a workshop with diagnostic equipment check the fuel flow control valve and the fuel pressure sensor, and replace them if needed
Symptoms you may notice1
- A message appears in the display
What the fault can affect1
- A calculated value is used instead
