Volvo models this fault code applies to
Applies to the following models:
4 modelsC30 (2007–2013), C70 (2006–2013), S40 (2004–2013), V50 (2004–2013)
What does this fault code mean?
The ECM is informed over the CAN network that the additive dosing module (ADM) has registered a fault. The fault affects the dosing of additive into the main diesel fuel tank, and the ECM asks for an information lamp and a text message to be shown. This is a follow-on code: the root fault lies in the ADM and should be fixed first.
Possible causes
- A fault in the additive dosing module (ADM), which should be fault-traced there
What you can do
- 1Read the fault codes in the additive dosing module (ADM) and fix them first
- 2Clear this code once the ADM faults are fixed, then road test the car
- 3Check the condition of the battery and that its terminals are tight, since low voltage can cause communication faults
- 4Have a workshop check the ADM system if its fault codes cannot be read or fixed
Symptoms you may notice3
- Warning symbol and text message in the display
- Service reminder shown in the display
- Emissions status shows that readiness is not complete
What the fault can affect1
