What does this fault code mean?
In some operating modes, including when the engine is cold, fuel pressure is controlled only by the fuel pressure control valve. If the pressure is too low in such a mode, the code is set. The fault may lie in the fuel system or in the pressure control itself.
Possible causes
- Leakage in the fuel system
- Air in the fuel lines
- Blocked fuel filter
- Damaged fuel pressure sensor
- Damaged fuel pressure control valve
- Damaged tank pump
What you can do
- 1Read and act on any fault codes for the tank pump first, then clear the code and road test the car
- 2Look for leaks in the fuel system, for example at connections and in hoses
- 3Replace the fuel filter if you suspect it is blocked, and check that the lines are not kinked
- 4Check the connector at the fuel pressure sensor for contact resistance and oxidation
- 5Have a workshop check the fuel pressure control valve and the tank pump if the fault remains
Symptoms you may notice1
- Message in the information display
What the fault can affect1
- The engine control module substitutes a calculated pressure value
