What does this fault code mean?
In some operating modes, including with a cold engine, only the fuel pressure control valve controls the pressure. If the pressure is too low in such a mode, the code is set.
Possible causes
- Air in the fuel lines
- Leakage in the fuel system
- Clogged fuel filter
- Damaged fuel pressure sensor
- Damaged injector
- Damaged tank pump
What you can do
- 1Read the fault codes for the tank pump first and fix them. Then clear the code and road test the car
- 2Check whether the fuel filter is clogged
- 3Look for leaks in the fuel system, especially at the connections
- 4Check the connector at the fuel pressure sensor for contact resistance and oxidation
- 5Have a workshop check the injectors and the tank pump if the fault remains
Symptoms you may notice1
- Reduced performance
What the fault can affect1
- The ECM uses a calculated pressure instead of the sensor reading
General guidance for car owners. Diagnosis on the car can point to a different cause.
