What does this fault code mean?
The injector for cylinder 5 is driven by the engine control module's internal power stage. If the module finds a fault in that control, the code is set, and the fault lies in the module rather than the injector.
Possible causes
- A fault inside the engine control module (ECM)

- 1With diagnostic equipment, read the fault code's status and see whether the fault is active right now
- 2Clear the fault code and road test the car to see whether it returns
- 3Have a workshop replace the engine control module if the fault returns
