What does this fault code mean?
The engine control module (ECM) compares its calculated fuel consumption with the actual consumption. If consumption is higher and torque is too low at the same time, the code is set. The cause can then lie in the fuel or intake system, or in the boost pressure and engine speed sensors.
Possible causes
- The fuel system leaks
- The intake system draws in air through a leak
- The boost pressure sensor is damaged
- The engine speed sensor is damaged
What you can do
- 1Read the code, clear it and road test the car
- 2Check that the fuel system does not leak at connections and lines
- 3Check the intake system for air leaks, for example at hoses and connections
- 4Check the connectors and wiring of the boost pressure sensor and engine speed sensor for looseness, contact resistance and oxidation
- 5Have a workshop check the boost pressure sensor and the engine speed sensor if the fault remains
