Volvo models this fault code applies to
Applies to the following models:
2 modelsS80 (1999–2006), XC90 (2003–)
What does this fault code mean?
On bank 2 the long-term correction adjusts fuel quantity from the oxygen sensor reading. At its lower limit, meaning the mixture is too rich, the ECM has already reached its limit and cannot cut the fuel any further.
Possible causes
- Fuel pressure is too high
- The injectors are leaking
- The mass air flow sensor is broken
- The engine oil is contaminated
- The oil stands above the max level
What you can do
- 1Check the oil level against the dipstick and whether the oil looks diluted
- 2Have a workshop check the fuel pressure and any leaking injectors if the fault remains
- 3Have a workshop check the mass air flow sensor if the fault remains after these checks
- 4With diagnostic equipment, read the bank 2 long-term correction and see whether it stays steady at idle
Symptoms you may notice1
- No noticeable symptoms for the driver
