What does this fault code mean?
The control module has found that the supply voltage to the oxygen sensor control is too low, and the code is stored. Causes can be a signal cable shorted to ground or an internal fault in the control module.
Possible causes
- Signal cable shorted to ground
- Fault inside the engine control module (ECM) itself
What you can do
- 1Read the code, clear it and drive for a while to see whether it returns
- 2Switch off the ignition and check that the connectors at the engine control module and at the oxygen sensor are secure and clean
- 3Use a multimeter with the car switched off to confirm that the signal wire is isolated from ground
- 4If the signal cable is intact but the fault remains, have a workshop check the engine control module with diagnostic equipment
Symptoms you may notice1
