What does this fault code mean?

The control module compares the fuel temperature during driving with the intake air and engine temperatures. If the fuel temperature is too far below the others, the fault is set. The cause may be poor contact or a damaged fuel temperature sensor.

    Possible causes

    • Contact resistance or oxidation in the connections
    • Damaged fuel temperature sensor

    What you can do

    1. 1Check that the connector at the fuel pressure sensor is secure and free from contact resistance and oxidation
    2. 2If you have a diagnostic tool: read the fuel temperature at idle and compare it with engine temperature. Once the car has cooled, the two should be about equal
    3. 3With the car switched off, check the connector and wires to the sensor for play and oxidation
    4. 4If the connector is in order but the fault remains, have a workshop check the fuel temperature sensor with diagnostic equipment

    Symptoms you may notice1

    • Malfunction indicator lamp (MIL) lit

    What the fault can affect1

    • A predefined value is used for the fuel temperature

General guidance for car owners. Diagnosis on the car can point to a different cause.
