What does this fault code mean?
The engine control module (ECM) has registered that the signal from the particulate trap pressure sensor is faulty. The fault can be caused by clogged or swapped hoses, a damaged sensor, or poor contact in the sensor connector.
Possible causes
- Clogged hoses to the particulate trap pressure sensor
- Hoses to the pressure sensor have been swapped
- Damaged pressure sensor
- Contact resistance or oxidation in the connector
What you can do
- 1Make sure the hoses to the sensor are routed correctly and not blocked
- 2Clear the fault code and road test to see whether it returns
- 3If you have a diagnostic tool: read the pressure sensor value in live data with ignition on and then at idle, and compare it with what you expect
- 4Check the connector at the pressure sensor for loose contact, contact resistance and oxidation
- 5If the fault remains after these checks, the sensor may be damaged, and a workshop should check it and reset the adaptation
Symptoms you may notice1
- Poor performance
What the fault can affect1
- Engine output and engine speed are limited
