What does this fault code mean?
The engine control module (ECM) monitors the pressure difference before and after the particulate trap. The fault code is set when the signal from the sensor is faulty, which can be caused by a blocked or damaged sensor.
Possible causes
- Blocked pressure sensor
- Damaged differential pressure sensor
What you can do
- 1Check that the sensor's hoses and pipes are not blocked
- 2Make sure the sensor hoses are not mixed up with each other
- 3If you have a diagnostic tool: read the pressure sensor signal in live data with ignition on. It should be low, and an unexpectedly high signal suggests a blocked sensor
- 4Clear the code and road test to see whether it returns
- 5If the fault remains, have a workshop check or replace the pressure sensor
Symptoms you may notice1
- No noticeable symptoms for the driver
