What does this fault code mean?
The ECM tests the fuel temperature sensor's signal. The fault code is set when the value differs too much from the coolant and intake temperatures following a long period with the engine off.
Possible causes
- Contact resistance in the connectors
- Damaged fuel temperature sensor
What you can do
- 1Look at the connector at the fuel temperature sensor and check that it is secure and free of oxidation
- 2Leave the engine switched off for a long period, then start it and read the fuel, coolant and intake temperatures in live data. Without a diagnostic tool, a workshop can do this
- 3Clear the code and road test to see whether it returns
- 4The sensor is built into the fuel pressure sensor. Have a workshop check or replace it if the fault remains
Symptoms you may notice1
- No noticeable symptoms for the driver
What the fault can affect1
- The module calculates the fuel temperature instead
