What does this fault code mean?
The engine control module (ECM) monitors the pressure difference before and after the particulate trap and starts a counter when the trap begins to fill with soot. The fault code is stored as a warning once the counter has increased, and there is no fault in the system.
Possible causes
- Soot has started to collect in the particulate trap
What you can do
- 1Drive the car a longer distance so the particulate trap can burn off the soot automatically during normal driving
- 2Read the code and note whether it is still present after the drive
- 3If the code cannot be cleared, a workshop may need to run the routines for resetting the counter and adapting the differential pressure sensor
Symptoms you may notice1
- A message appears in the information display
General guidance for car owners. Diagnosis on the car can point to a different cause.
