ECM-2C0C
VOLVO
ECM-2C0C - Injector cyl 1. Signal too high
System
Engine Control Module (ECM)
Volvo models this fault code applies to
Applies to the following models:
2 modelsS80 (1999–2006), XC90 (2003–)
Show models by year and engine (2)
What does this fault code mean?
The ECM monitors the circuit to the injector for cylinder 1. The fault code is set when the signal in that circuit is too high, which can be caused by a wire shorted to supply voltage or a damaged injector.
Possible causes
- Signal wire short-circuited to supply voltage
- Damaged injector
What you can do
- 1Read and note the code, clear it and road test to see whether it returns
- 2Inspect the wire to the injector for cylinder 1 for chafing and pinching where it may have shorted to supply voltage
- 3Use a multimeter to check that the wire to the injector for cylinder 1 is not shorted to supply voltage with ignition on
- 4If you have a diagnostic tool: read the signal for the cylinder 1 injector in live data with ignition on and see whether it is abnormally high
- 5If the wire is intact, have a workshop check the injector
Symptoms you may notice2
- The malfunction indicator lamp (MIL) is on
- The engine is not running on all cylinders
