What does this fault code mean?
The fault code shows that the signal to the injector for cylinder 2 is missing. That cylinder may then not contribute properly, and the engine is not running on all cylinders.
Possible causes
- Contact resistance in the connections to the injector
- Open circuit in the signal wire
- Open circuit in the power supply to the injector
- Damaged mass air flow (MAF) sensor
What you can do
- 1Check the connector at the injector for cylinder 2 for contact resistance and loose connections
- 2Use a multimeter to check that the wire to the injector for cylinder 2 has no open circuit
- 3If you have a diagnostic tool: activate the injector for cylinder 2 with ignition on and see whether it responds. If it does not, the signal is likely missing
- 4Read and note the code, clear it and road test to see whether it returns
- 5If the fault remains, have a workshop check the injector and the mass air flow sensor
