Possible causes
- Cylinder 4 wire shorted to supply voltage
- Damaged injector for cylinder 4
What you can do
- 1Clear the code and road test to see whether it returns
- 2Look for where the cylinder 4 wire may have been pinched or chafed so that it touched supply voltage
- 3With ignition on, use a multimeter to check that the cylinder 4 wire is not shorted to supply voltage
- 4If you have a diagnostic tool: read the cylinder 4 injector value in live data with ignition on and compare it with the other cylinders
- 5Ask a workshop to check the cylinder 4 injector with diagnostic equipment
Symptoms you may notice2
- The malfunction indicator lamp (MIL) is on
