What does this fault code mean?
According to the fault code, no signal reaches the injector for cylinder 5. The cause may be oxidised connections, broken wiring, a damaged injector or a damaged mass air flow sensor.
Possible causes
- Oxidised connections to the injector
- Break in the wire carrying the signal to cylinder 5
- Break in the supply to the injector
- Damaged injector
- Damaged mass air flow (MAF) sensor
What you can do
- 1Read and note the code, clear it and road test
- 2Look at the connection at the cylinder 5 injector and make sure it is secure and clean
- 3Use a multimeter to check that the wire to cylinder 5 has no break
- 4If you have a diagnostic tool: activate the cylinder 5 injector and check that a click can be heard
- 5If the fault returns after these checks, have a workshop assess the injector and the mass air flow sensor
