What does this fault code mean?

The ECM measures the current through the fuel flow valve using an internal A/D converter. The fault code is set when the converter value is incorrect, which can be caused by a short in the signal wire, a sticking valve or contamination in the fuel system.

    Possible causes

    • Signal wire short-circuited to ground or supply voltage
    • The fuel flow valve sticks
    • Contamination such as water or dirt in the fuel system
    • Damaged fuel flow control valve

    What you can do

    1. 1Read and note the code, clear it and road test to see whether it returns
    2. 2Inspect the signal wire to the fuel flow valve for chafing, as a short to ground or supply voltage can occur there
    3. 3Use a multimeter to check that the signal wire is not shorted to ground (the body) or to supply voltage
    4. 4Check the connector at the fuel flow valve for oxidation and play
    5. 5If the wiring is intact, have a workshop decide whether the valve is sticking or the fuel system is contaminated

    Symptoms you may notice1

    • No noticeable symptoms for the driver
