What does this fault code mean?
The engine has misfired on cylinder two during the first revolutions after it was started. The control module stores the code when the misfires are detected during starting, which means cylinder two. The causes lie in the fuel system, the intake or the crankcase ventilation.
Possible causes
- Low fuel level
- Engine never reaches full operating temperature across repeated cold starts
- Contaminated or incorrect fuel
- Air leakage
- Blocked or leaking injector
- Faulty fuel pressure
What you can do
- 1First investigate the other fault codes that affect camshaft control or the camshaft reset valve
- 2Check the fuel level in the tank and the engine oil level
- 3Check the spark plug on cylinder two
- 4Check the intake for leaks and the crankcase ventilation for blockages
- 5Check that the fuel suits the season
- 6If the fault remains, have a workshop check the fuel pressure and the compression
Symptoms you may notice4
- Engine warning lamp lit
- The engine misfires
- The engine is difficult to start
- Uneven idle
What the fault can affect2
- Rear oxygen sensor control is switched off
- Lambda control is switched off
