What does this fault code mean?
The engine misfires on cylinder two during the first revolutions after starting, in a way that affects the exhaust emissions. The code indicates that cylinder two is misfiring, and it can be checked while the engine runs. The causes lie in the injection, the fuel and the intake.
Possible causes
- Blocked or leaking injector
- Uneven compression
- Air leakage
- Faulty fuel pressure
- Low fuel level
- Engine never reaches full operating temperature across repeated cold starts
What you can do
- 1First investigate the other fault codes that affect camshaft control or the camshaft reset valve
- 2Check the fuel level in the tank and that the engine oil level is correct
- 3Check the spark plug on cylinder two
- 4Check the intake system for leaks
- 5Check that the fuel suits the season
- 6Have a workshop measure the compression on cylinder two if the other checks show nothing
Symptoms you may notice5
- Engine warning lamp lit
- The engine misfires
- The engine is difficult to start
- Poor performance
- Uneven idle
What the fault can affect2
- Rear oxygen sensor control is switched off
- Lambda control is switched off
