What does this fault code mean?
The engine has misfired on cylinder four during the first revolutions after it was started. The control module stores the code when the misfires are detected during starting and indicates cylinder four. The causes may lie in the fuel, the intake or the crankcase ventilation.
Possible causes
- Low fuel level
- Engine never reaches full operating temperature across repeated cold starts
- Contaminated or incorrect fuel
- Air leakage
- Blocked crankcase ventilation
- Blocked or leaking injector
What you can do
- 1First investigate the other fault codes that affect camshaft control or the camshaft reset valve
- 2Check the fuel level in the tank and that the engine oil level is correct
- 3Check the spark plug on cylinder four
- 4Check the crankcase ventilation for blockages
- 5Check that the fuel suits the season
- 6If the fault remains, have a workshop check the fuel pressure
