What does this fault code mean?
The control module monitors the signal wire to the ignition coil for cylinder two, and the code shows that the fault concerns that coil. If a fault is registered on the wire, the code is stored, and the engine may misfire. Lambda control is disabled while the fault is present.
Possible causes
- Signal wire short-circuited to supply voltage
- Signal wire short-circuited to ground
- Open circuit in the signal wire
- Loose connection in the connector
- Defective ignition coil
What you can do
- 1Run the engine at idle and check that it runs smoothly
- 2Look over the ignition coil plug for oxidation and a loose fit
- 3Use a multimeter to check that the signal wire to the coil has no contact with supply voltage
- 4Use a multimeter to check that the signal wire is not broken or shorted to ground
- 5If the fault remains after these checks, have a workshop replace the ignition coil
Symptoms you may notice1
- The engine misfires
What the fault can affect1
- Lambda control is disabled
