What does this fault code mean?
The engine control module compares the desired and the actual position of the injection timing adjustment. If the difference is too large, the code is stored. The cause may be air in the fuel system, a defective timing adjustment valve or needle lift sensor, a defective injection pump, or an incorrectly set pump.

What you can do
- 1Check that the fuel system hoses and connections are intact and not letting air in
- 2If you have a diagnostic tool, read the fault code status and see whether the timing value differs from the desired value
- 3If the fault remains, have a workshop check the timing adjustment valve, the needle lift sensor and the pump setting
