What does this fault code mean?
The fault is stored as permanent, meaning it is present right now. The code indicates which cylinder or cylinders are misfiring and that the misfire has affected exhaust emissions.
Possible causes
- Blocked or leaking injector
- Uneven compression
- Air leakage
- Faulty fuel pressure
- Contaminated or incorrect fuel
- Repeated cold starts without the engine reaching operating temperature between starts
What you can do
- 1Check that there is fuel in the tank and that the engine oil level is correct
- 2If you have a diagnostic tool: read the misfire counters and see which cylinder stands out
- 3Check that the intake does not leak air and that the crankcase ventilation is not blocked
- 4Stored camshaft control codes should be diagnosed first
- 5Have a workshop check the spark and measure fuel pressure and compression with diagnostic equipment
