What does this fault code mean?
This code concerns a misfire on cylinder 1 that affects exhaust emissions. The control module monitors speed changes on each crankshaft revolution using the pulse sensor and sets the code when cylinder 1 misfires.
Possible causes
- Damaged injection valves
- Contaminated or incorrect fuel
- Uneven or poor compression in cylinder 1
What you can do
- 1Clear the code and road test the car to see whether it returns
- 2Make sure no wrong fuel was put into the tank
- 3If you have a diagnostic tool: read the misfire counter for cylinder 1 and compare it with the others
- 4Have a workshop check the injection valve and the compression in cylinder 1 with diagnostic equipment
