What does this fault code mean?
The leak diagnosis is switched off when the engine control module receives a signal from the leak diagnostic pump that is too high. The fault is caused by the signal wire being short-circuited to supply voltage, or by a damaged pump.
Possible causes
- Signal wire short-circuited to supply voltage
- Damaged pump in the leak diagnostic unit
What you can do
- 1Check the signal wire for a short circuit to positive
- 2Use a multimeter to see whether the signal wire has voltage when it should not
- 3Look for pinched or chafed wiring that may have touched a positive feed
- 4Repair the short circuit and clear the fault code
- 5If no fault is found in these checks, have a workshop fit a new leak diagnostic unit
Symptoms you may notice1
- Malfunction indicator lamp (MIL) is on
What the fault can affect1
- The leak diagnostic is switched off
