What does this fault code mean?
The engine control module should receive confirmation that a lock request for the filler flap has been sent, and if that confirmation is missing when the car drives faster than allowed, the fault code is set. The confirmation should arrive over the CAN network from the central electronic module (CEM) or the rear electronic module (REM). The fault lies in communication between the modules, and codes in the CEM and other modules should be remedied first.
Possible causes
- Loose connections or contact resistance in the connections to the CAN network
- Damaged wiring to the CAN network
- Interference on the CAN signal wires
- Another module on the high-speed CAN network is damaged
What you can do
- 1Start by reading the fault codes from the CEM and from any other affected module, then remedy them
- 2Do not clear this code until the codes in the CEM and in the other modules have been remedied and cleared
- 3Check the connections in the CAN network for loose contacts and oxidation
- 4Look for chafed or damaged CAN wiring
- 5Have a workshop with diagnostic equipment check the CAN communication if the fault returns
