What does this fault code mean?
The engine control module keeps watch on the drive signal for the heater element inside the leak diagnostic pump. When the signal is too low the fault code is set, and it is tested when the leak diagnosis runs. The fault can be caused by an open circuit in the signal wire or by a damaged pump.
Possible causes
- Open circuit in the signal wire
- Damaged leak diagnostic pump
What you can do
- 1Have a workshop check the engine control module software before troubleshooting starts
- 2Clear the fault code and run a new leak diagnostic to see if it returns
- 3Check the signal wire to the heater element for an open circuit
- 4Use a multimeter to check that the signal wire is not open-circuited
- 5Repair the break and check that the connectors are firmly seated and free from oxidation
- 6Have a workshop replace the leak diagnostic pump if the wiring is intact but the fault remains
Symptoms you may notice1
- No noticeable symptoms for the driver
